11th February - Hindu Council UK conducts a training session for the Metropolitan Police and Fire officers in Brent.
This training session was attended by 20 officers who spent a day at the Hindu temple in Cricklewood. They were given a brief introduction to Hinduism and were encouraged to ask questions on issues they may have to face when dealing with interacting with Hindu families as well as Hindu temples. The session was received with great deal of warmth not least because the temple served a sumptuous lunch! These officers went away feeling that they have gained a valuable insight on some of the sensitivities surrounding Hindu issues. We are keen to conduct similar sessions for other public bodies in the country.
